READ BEFORE AN INCIDENT OR ACCIDENT<\/strong><\/p>

ROLES AND ACTIONS:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/em>Redlands Police Department<\/strong> \u2013 assists with securing the site<\/p>

Airport Superviso<\/strong>r \u2013 directs on-field operations, secures incident\/accident per FAA\/ NTSB 49 CFR Sub-Sections 830.10, https\u201d\/\/www.ntsb.gov\/Pages\/default.aspx<\/u> <\/em>NTSB Response Operations Center Home Page and City of Redlands Municipal Airport Chapter 12.56, Sections 12.56.050, .080, .230, .025, .350 (i.e. runway closure, phots, statement, and report)<\/p>

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Redlands Fire Department<\/strong> \u2013 prevent or suppress fires, hazardous chemical spills, spreading, and containment<\/p>

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Paramedics<\/strong> \u2013 deal with medical emergencies<\/p>

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Redlands Public Affairs<\/strong> \u2013 respond and or addresses media<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

RUWNWAY\/TAXIWAY\/APRON EFFECTS:<\/u><\/strong> (PHYSICAL, OPERATIONS, AND OR ENVIRONEMTNAL)<\/p>

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Cleaning and reopening the runway, taxiway, and apron areas only after FAA\/NTSB releases aircraft<\/p>

(On-field FBO\u2019s or certified aircraft maintenance personnel may handle aircraft retrieval, as approved by owner and\/or Airport Supervisor)<\/em><\/p>

\u00a0<\/em><\/p>

ON-FIELD EMERGENCY EVENT:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>

  • Call 911, report with location by airfield elements (i.e. gate, runway, build number, cardinal direction), see Exhibit 1 Map<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>
    1. Dial 911 if any hazardous fuel and or material spills\/leaks<\/li>
    2. Airport Supervisor secures Emergency Event Black Backpack in office, handheld radio, emergency vest, camera\/cell phone, flashlight, fire extinguisher(s), and airport vehicle<\/li>
    3. Use Redlands Airport frequency, 123.050 to alert Redlands Aircraft Traffic of event; i.e. impacts to runway, taxiway, and or aprons<\/li>
    4. Call FAA NOTAMS (877) 487-6867 if runway\/taxiway closer is required, then call FAA\/NTSB (877) 373-9922 or (202) 314-6290 to report event<\/li>
    5. Call local Flight Standards District Office, Riverside, CA (FSDO) at (951) 276-6701, ext. 221 or (877) 4876867<\/li>
    6. Strive to continue airfield operations, once cleared by FAA, NTSB, or other regulatory agencies<\/li>
    7. Direct coordination with City of Redlands Public Affairs to prepare Media and or community questions and outreach<\/li><\/ol>
      • On-Airport Personnel
        1. City Staff, FBO\u2019s, and or Tenants go to incident\/accident site render appropriate assistance
          1. Administer lifesaving aid as needed<\/li>
          2. Protect site, facility and or equipment and or aircraft from further damage<\/li><\/ol><\/li><\/ol><\/li><\/ul>
            • Take descriptive note, photographs, witness statements, original position(s), conditions, and impacted area, facilities, and or equipment<\/li><\/ul>
              1. City Staff and or Tenant(s) stay at Central and or Coyote Gates or Airport Main Lobby to direct first responders, announce on Redlands, Airport Handheld radio, frequency 123.050<\/u> as appropriate<\/li><\/ol>

                \u00a0<\/p>

                VEHICLE, EQUIPMENT, AND OR AIRCRAFT RECOVERY GUIDELINES:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>

                \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Actions before removal<\/p>

                1. FAA\/NTSB approves aircraft removal depending on incident\/accident level<\/li>
                2. City of Redlands Police, Fire Department, City Staff and or contractors supports actions to clean site, remove debris, aircraft, evidence, and all photos are retained<\/li>
                3. All fuels, fluids, and or hazardous materials are properly secured and removed from the site, facility, equipment, vehicle and or aircraft by certified hazardous waste personnel and or contractor<\/li><\/ol>
